Noida, 2nd October 2025: A spectacular Kuchipudi dance recital by Drisha Trehan, disciple of the legendary Padma Bhushan Raja and Radha Reddy, set the stage ablaze at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida, during the ongoing 11th Global Literary Festival Noida 2025. The grand performance drew a jam-packed auditorium filled with dignitaries, writers, artists, and lovers of Indian classical art.

The evening witnessed the august presence of H.E. Karlito Nunes, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to India, and Ms. Magdalena Rigamonti, Senior Polish Journalist, who were deeply moved by the young artiste’s captivating performance.

Drisha Trehan’s elegant movements, expressive abhinaya, and rhythmic grace brought alive the timeless beauty of Indian classical dance. The audience responded with repeated rounds of applause, enthralled by her precision, emotion, and vibrant stage presence that reflected years of rigorous training under her esteemed Gurus.

The immortal voice of Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar, fondly remembered as Didi, was celebrated on her 96th birth anniversary at the grand Didi Puraskaar Presentation Ceremony at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruha, Kothrud, Pune. The evening, organized by Shirish Theatre, brought together leading voices and cultural stalwarts for a night steeped in melody and emotion.

The prestigious Didi Puraskaar was conferred upon noted vocalist Madhura Datar and was presented by Ashish Shelar in recognition of her contribution to music and her ability to carry forward the timeless legacy of India’s nightingale.

Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar shared special and untold memories of Lata Didi, saying “As long as there is a resonant voice, sound, music, and compassion, my didi is immortal.”

Ashish Shelar said, “Lata Didi’s music is eternal. She was the voice of India’s soul, and celebrating her memory through the Didi Puraskaar ensures that future generations continue to draw strength and inspiration from her.”

This was the fifth year of the awards ceremony, where several actors, directors, musicians, and social workers were present as special guests, and all were honored with this prestigious award.

The song was released through Krishna Music. The music is composed by Rajesh Ghayal, sung by Karishma Sheikh, and songwriters are Shaista Deshmukh.  The DOP is Pappu Shetty, the choreographer is Agnes, and the editor is Sandeep Mishra. Shirin Farid also performed the song live.

On this occasion, director Dr. Krishna Chouhan and singer NK Naresh’s Hindi album “Jod De Dil Se Dil Ki Kadi” was also released, featuring Vinayak Soni and actress Rangita Singh. The music for the music video “Jod De Dil Se Dil Ki Kadi” by renowned singer-performer NK Naresh is composed by veteran composer Dilip Sen and written by renowned lyricist Satyaprakash. Vinayak Soni and the talented actress Rangita Singh have delivered a superb performance in this song. The video song also features glimpses of singer NK Naresh. The second day of Bahar-e-Urdu, celebrating fifty years of the Maharashtra Urdu Sahitya Academy, lit up the Dome SVP Stadium, Worli, with a grand tribute to Urdu’s eloquence, intellect, and emotion.

The day began with an Open Mic Mushaira, where young poets Kayam Shah, Ahad Saeed, Payal Pandey, Zain Lakhimpuri, Riyaz Aasi, Shaukat Ali, Adnan Shaikh, Mayank Verma, Imran Ataai and Maqsood Aafaque filled the hall with youthful passion and heartfelt verse.

Two scholarly sessions followed. In “Maharashtra Mein Urdu Adab,” moderated by Dr. Tabassum Khan, papers were presented by Dr. Shaikh Ahrar Ahmad (Thane) and Dr. Quazi Naveed Siddiqui (Aurangabad), with insights from Dr. Abdullah Imteyaz Ahmad (Mumbai) and Prof. Shahid Naukhez (Hyderabad). The next, “Modern Technology and Urdu,” moderated by Mohammad Irfan Raza, featured Dr. Mohd. Tabish Khan (Bhiwandi), Dr. Liaqat Ali (Delhi), Dr. Parvez Ahmad, and Dr. Mahmood Mirza, highlighting Urdu’s growing digital presence.

The evening’s Tamseeli Mushaira brought poetic icons to life, with Zahid Ali Sayyed, Manzoor Islam, Sajid A. Hameed, Raziya Baig, Noman Khan, Nuzhat Parveen Akil Kagzi, Talha Bi Saver Hashmi, Mohsin Husnuddin Shaikh, and Khan Shadab Mohammed portraying legendary poets including Mirza Ghalib, Tahir Faraz, Anjum Rehbar and Obaid Azam Azmi.

A mesmerizing Dastangoi by Fouzia Dastango and a soulful Sufi performance by Jhelum Singh — featuring “Nitt Khair Manga,” “Mere Dholna,” and “Dama Dam Mast Qalandar” — enchanted the audience.

The evening celebrated those who continue to serve Urdu through literature, education, and creativity. Awards were presented in the following categories:

Award for Emerging Writers, Layout Designing Award, Award for Urdu Journalism, Special Award, Educational Service Award, University and Degree College Level Award, School Level Award and Best Book Award.

Each award was a reminder of the many different ways Urdu is being nurtured—on the page, in the classroom, and in the community.

The evening also honoured poets, writers, journalists, educators, and designers for their contributions to Urdu, culminating in a spellbinding Qawwali by the Sabri Brothers.

Bahar-e-Urdu’s second day was not merely an event; it was a living celebration of heritage, intellect, and artistry — a reminder that Urdu does not just belong to history books, but to every voice that dares to sing, speak, and dream in its melody. As the festival prepares for its final day, one truth resounds through every ghazal, every word, and every applause — Urdu lives on, radiant as ever, in the hearts of those who love it.

 

Bahar-E-Urdu Day 2: Young Voices, Literary Wisdom & A Night of Soulful Celebration

Mumbai is set to immerse itself in the rich traditions of Urdu literature, art, and music as the Maharashtra Urdu Sahitya Academy marks its golden jubilee with a grand celebration titled Bahar-e-Urdu. The three-day cultural extravaganza, organised by the Minority Department of Maharashtra, will be held at the iconic DOME SVP Stadium, Worli, on 6th, 7th and 8th October 2025.

A Festival of Words, Melody and Heritage

The event promises to be a confluence of Urdu’s timeless charm — from thought-provoking seminars, panel discussions, and storytelling sessions, to soulful renditions of ghazals, qawwali, and sufi music. Exhibition stalls will add to the cultural mosaic, showcasing works that celebrate Urdu’s literary and artistic journey.

Each day will bring a unique mix of performances:

Day One (6th October) opens with an exhibition and inaugural ceremony, followed by a stirring Qaumi Yakjehti Geet, an Urdu theatrical drama, and a celebrity Mushaira featuring acclaimed poets. The evening crescendo’s into an awards distribution ceremony, a session with humourist Surendra Sharma, a panel on Filmon Mein Urdu with Sachin Pilgaonkar and Rumy Jafri and others, and an engaging Q&A session with Javed Akhtar and Rumy Jafri. The show will be hosted by Shekhar Suman and Ali Asgar, closing with a spirited Sufi/Qawwali night led by the legendary Sabri Brothers.

Day Two (7th October) continues the celebration with a Mushaira by young poets, an academic seminar on the Urdu language, a vibrant fashion show, and a dastangoi performance. The evening highlights include a soulful Sufi performance by Jhelum Singh, alongside the distribution of 156 awards across various categories. The day will be hosted by Priya Malik and Imtiyaz Khaleel.

Day Three (8th October) is marked by musical brilliance, featuring performances of sufi music, ghazals, and qawwali. Highlights include Mushairas, theatrical performances, and a stirring qawwali performance by Shabab Sabri. The finale will be hosted by Shekhar Suman, culminating in a grand finale by none other than Padma Shri Anup Jalota, whose ghazals have mesmerised audiences worldwide.

Urdu has always been more than a language — it is a bridge of cultures, emotions, and shared heritage. ، کیونکہ مہاراشٹر اُردو ساہتیہ اکیڈمی اپنی گولڈن جوبلی کا شاندار جشن “بہارِ اُردو” کے طور پر منانے جا رہی ہے۔ یہ تین روزہ ثقافتی میلہ، جو مہاراشٹر کے محکمۂ اقلیتی امور کے زیر اہتمام ہے، 6، 7 اور 8 اکتوبر 2025 کو وُرلی کے مشہور ڈوم ایس وی پی اسٹیڈیم میں منعقد ہورہا ہے۔

 

لفظ، سُر اور ورثے کا تہوار

یہ تقریب اُردو زبان کی لازوال خوبصورتی کا حسین امتزاج ہوگی۔ اس تقریب میں فکر انگیز سمینارز، پینل ڈسکشنز اور داستان گوئی کے سیشنز سے لے کر غزل، قوالی اور صوفی موسیقی کی روح پرور محفلیں شامل ہوں گی۔ علاوہ ازیں نمائشی اسٹال اُردو کے ادبی و فنّی سفر کی جھلکیاں پیش کریں گے اور اس ثقافتی منظرنامے کو مزید خوش رنگ بنائیں گے۔

پہلا دن (6 اکتوبر) کا آغاز نمائش اور افتتاحی تقریب سے ہوگا۔ اس کے بعد قومی یک جہتی گیت، اُردو تھیٹریکل ڈرامہ اور مشہور شعراء کا مشاعرہ ہوگا۔ شام کے وقت ہاسیہ کوی (مزاحیہ شاعر) سریندر شرما اپنی ظرافت سے محفل کو لطف اندوز کریں گے۔ اسی طرح “فلموں میں اردو” کے عنوان سے ایک پینل ڈسکشن ہوگا جس میں رومی جعفری، سچن پلگاؤنکر اور دیگر اہم نام شریک ہوں گے۔ پینل ڈسکشن کے بعد رومی جعفری معروف فلم و نغمہ نگار جاوید اختر کے ساتھ سوال و جواب کے سیشن کا حصہ بنیں گے۔ بہار اردو کے پہلے دن کی میزبانی شیکھر سُمن اور علی اصغر کریں گے۔ دن کا اختتام صوفی/قوالی نائٹ سے ہوگا، جس میں معروف صابری برادران اپنے فن کا مظاہرہ کریں گے۔ پہلے روز کی ایک تقریب اردو اکیڈمی کے “مرزا غالب لائف ٹائم اچیومنٹ ایوارڈ” اور “ولی دکنی ایوارڈ” اردو زبان و ادب کی منتخب شخصیات کی عزت افزائی ہوگی۔

اسی طرح دوسرے دن (7 اکتوبر) کو نوجوان شعراء کا مشاعرہ، اُردو زبان و ادب پر علمی سمینار، ایک فیشن شو اور داستان گوئی کی تقریبات منعقد ہوں گی۔ اس روز جہلم سنگھ صوفی سنگیت میں اپنے فن کا مظاہرہ کریں گی۔ اس روز 156 ایوارڈز مختلف زمروں میں تقسیم کیے جائیں گے۔ اس دن کی میزبانی پریا ملک اور امتیاز خلیل کریں گے۔

تیسرا دن (8 اکتوبر) موسیقی اور شاعری کے نام ہوگا۔ اس میں مشاعرے، تھیٹریکل ڈرامے اور شباب صابری کی قوالی شامل ہوگی۔ اس دن کی میزبانی شیکھر سُمن کریں گے اور اس دن کا اختتام پدم شری انوپ جلوٹا کی دل نشیں غزلوں سے ہوگا۔

ایک زندہ روایت

اُردو صرف ایک زبان نہیں بلکہ تہذیبوں، جذبات اور مشترکہ ورثے کا پُل ہے۔ پچاس برسوں سے مہاراشٹر اُردو ساہتیہ اکیڈمی نے اس ورثے کو پروان چڑھایا ہے اور شعراء، ادیبوں، فنکاروں اور تخلیق کاروں کو آگے بڑھنے کا موقع دیا ہے۔ بہارِ اُردو محض ماضی کا جشن نہیں بلکہ مستقبل کا عہد ہے۔ یہ اکیڈمی کی اس وابستگی کا اعلان ہے کہ اُردو زبان کی خوبصورتی آنے والی نسلوں تک قائم و دائم رہے گی۔

Bahar-e-Urdu: Celebrating 50 Years of Maharashtra Urdu Sahitya Academy

The grand celebration of Bahar-e-Urdu opened to a packed audience at Dome SVP Stadium, Worli, as Urdu’s timeless magic came alive through poetry, wit, and music.

The evening began with a Qaumi Yakjehti Geet by Farkhanda and the Kohinoor Music Academy, followed by Mujeeb Khan’s evocative Urdu theatrical presentation Ishq Jale To Jale Aisa on the verses of Sahir Ludhianvi.

A star-studded Mushaira featuring Rajesh Reddy, Obaid Azam Azmi, Shakeel Azmi, Mehshar Afridi, Qamar Siddiqui, and Shikha Awdhesh transported the audience into the lyrical world of Urdu poetry.

Renowned humourist Surender Sharma had the crowd in splits with his signature wit, while a thought-provoking panel on “Filmon Mein Urdu” featuring Sachin Pilgaonkar, Rumy Jafry, and Syed Qadri, moderated by Shekhar Suman, explored the language’s poetic influence on Indian cinema.

A lively interactive session with Javed Akhtar and Rumy Jafry drew thunderous applause, highlighting the enduring resonance of Urdu in Indian storytelling.

The show, hosted with charisma and humour by Shekhar Suman and Ali Asgar, concluded with the national anthem.

As the first day came to a close, Bahar-e-Urdu reaffirmed that Urdu is not just a language—it is an emotion that unites hearts, transcending generations.

महाराष्ट्र उर्दू साहित्य अकादमी अपनी स्वर्ण जयंती के उपलक्ष्य में बहार-ए-उर्दू नामक एक भव्य समारोह का आयोजन कर रही है, जिसमें मुंबई उर्दू साहित्य, कला और संगीत की समृद्ध परंपराओं में डूबने के लिए तैयार है। महाराष्ट्र के अल्पसंख्यक विभाग द्वारा आयोजित यह तीन दिवसीय सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम 6, 7 और 8 अक्टूबर 2025 को वर्ली के प्रतिष्ठित डोम एसवीपी स्टेडियम में आयोजित किया जाएगा।

शब्दों, संगीत और विरासत का उत्सव

यह आयोजन उर्दू के शाश्वत आकर्षण का संगम होगा – विचारोत्तेजक संगोष्ठियों, पैनल चर्चाओं और कहानी-कथन सत्रों से लेकर ग़ज़लों, कव्वाली और सूफ़ी संगीत की भावपूर्ण प्रस्तुतियों तक। प्रदर्शनी स्टॉल सांस्कृतिक ताज़गी में चार चाँद लगाएँगे, जहाँ उर्दू की साहित्यिक और कलात्मक यात्रा का जश्न मनाने वाली कृतियाँ प्रदर्शित की जाएँगी।

 हर दिन प्रस्तुतियों का अनूठा मिश्रण देखने को मिलेगा:

पहले दिन (6 अक्टूबर) की शुरुआत एक प्रदर्शनी और उद्घाटन समारोह के साथ होगी, जिसके बाद एक भावपूर्ण कौमी यकजेहती गीत, एक उर्दू नाटक और प्रशंसित कवियों द्वारा प्रस्तुत एक प्रसिद्ध मुशायरा होगा। शाम का कार्यक्रम पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह, हास्य कलाकार सुरेंद्र शर्मा के साथ एक सत्र, सचिन पिलगांवकर और रूमी जाफरी व अन्य के साथ “फिल्मों में उर्दू” पर एक पैनल चर्चा, और जावेद अख्तर व रूमी जाफरी के साथ एक रोचक प्रश्नोत्तर सत्र में बदल जाएगा। इस कार्यक्रम की मेजबानी शेखर सुमन और अली असगर करेंगे, और समापन प्रसिद्ध साबरी बंधुओं द्वारा संचालित एक जोशीली सूफी/कव्वाली संध्या के साथ होगा।

दूसरे दिन (7 अक्टूबर) युवा कवियों द्वारा एक मुशायरा, उर्दू भाषा पर एक अकादमिक संगोष्ठी, एक जीवंत फैशन शो और एक दास्तानगोई प्रस्तुति के साथ उत्सव जारी रहेगा। शाम के मुख्य आकर्षणों में झेलम सिंह द्वारा एक भावपूर्ण सूफी प्रस्तुति और विभिन्न श्रेणियों में 156 पुरस्कारों का वितरण शामिल है।  इस दिन की मेज़बानी प्रिया मलिक और इम्तियाज़ खलील करेंगे।

तीसरा दिन (8 अक्टूबर) संगीत की शानदार प्रस्तुति से भरपूर होगा, जिसमें सूफ़ी संगीत, ग़ज़ल और कव्वाली की प्रस्तुतियाँ शामिल होंगी। मुख्य आकर्षण मुशायरे, नाट्य प्रस्तुतियाँ और शबाब साबरी की एक भावपूर्ण कव्वाली प्रस्तुति होगी। समापन समारोह शेखर सुमन द्वारा आयोजित किया जाएगा, जिसका समापन पद्मश्री अनूप जलोटा द्वारा एक भव्य समापन समारोह में होगा, जिनकी ग़ज़लों ने दुनिया भर के श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया है।

एक जीवंत विरासत

उर्दू हमेशा से एक भाषा से कहीं बढ़कर रही है – यह संस्कृतियों, भावनाओं और साझी विरासत का एक सेतु है। पचास वर्षों से, महाराष्ट्र उर्दू साहित्य अकादमी इस विरासत को संजोए हुए है और कवियों, लेखकों, कलाकारों और कलाकारों को इस ज्योति को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित कर रही है। बहार-ए-उर्दू न केवल अतीत का उत्सव है, बल्कि भविष्य के लिए एक वादा भी है – जो आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए उर्दू की सुंदरता को संरक्षित और बढ़ावा देने के लिए अकादमी की प्रतिबद्धता की पुष्टि करता है।
