Here’s an interview with Akshay Bafila, the producer, lead actor, and music director of Honeymoonay Namah.”

Question: Akshay, congratulations on “Honeymoonay Namah”! What inspired you to take on this unique project?

Answer: Thank you! We’re so happy to finally be sharing our film with audiences. You know, we’ve seen many films that tackle serious issues, but we wanted to do something different. We wanted to make people laugh while also highlighting some of the strange aspects of our society.

Question: This film is a satire that uses humor to comment on social issues. What was your approach to balancing comedy and social commentary?

Answer: We didn’t want to preach. We simply wanted to tell a story that was relatable and entertaining. The comedy comes naturally from the characters and situations, and we hope it will make people think.

Question: Tell us about the story of “Honeymoonay Namah.” What attracted you to this particular story?

Answer: The story is simple yet interesting. It’s about a boy who gets caught in the web of misunderstandings and societal pressures surrounding a tradition that doesn’t exist. We loved the idea of how quickly things can escalate, and the humor that follows is so good.

Question: How was working with the rest of the cast?

Answer: It was a dream team! Everyone brought their best to the table, and we had a great time on set. The cast was very supportive, and we got along very well.

Question: Music plays a crucial role in the film. Who inspired your score, and can you tell us about its standout tracks?

Answer: I’m proud of the music we created. We incorporated traditional Uttarakhandi elements and mixed them with a modern flavor. The songs are an important part of the story, and I’m glad you mentioned it – we included a beautiful folk song from Uttarakhand. The film features songs from four different genres.

Question: Do you hope audiences will learn something from “Honeymoonay Namah”?

Answer: Look, we just want people to have a good time and perhaps reflect on some of the strange things in our society. If they leave the theater smiling and with a thought or two, we’ll consider it a success!

Question: How proud was it for you that the film “Honeymoonay Namah” received numerous national and international awards?

Answer: “Honeymoonay Namah” is satirical cinema that attempts to expose the political opportunism prevalent in society through humor. The story of the film revolves around Mona, the son of a farmer from Uttarakhand, whose role I play. We are proud that the film has received many prestigious awards.

Question: When composing music, do you first come up with the lyrics?

Answer: Yes, I try to give the lyricist the freedom to write and then create the tune. However, nowadays, the tune is prepared first, followed by the lyrics. However, it’s better to write the lyrics first, then the music. The songs for this film have been beautifully written by Sanjay Kabeer and Deepak Tiruwa.

Question: How did you decide to become a producer?

Answer: I became a producer considering this to be my own film and to complete it. It was during the lockdown and the shooting was taking place in Uttarakhand, so it was my moral responsibility to contribute to its production.

Alka Bhrushundi’s ‘Athaha’ does not merely contemplate infinity; it constructs it.

In her works, blue is not a backdrop to devotion but a spatial field in which matter, energy, and consciousness appear suspended. The paintings move between vortex and void, between cellular intricacy and cosmic scale. Spirals open like primordial galaxies. Orb-like forms hover as if embryonic worlds. Vein-like calligraphic tracings pulse across surfaces, suggesting neural networks, river deltas, or unseen cosmological diagrams. The language is abstract, yet unmistakably organic.

The artist’s earlier engagement with devotional figuration has not disappeared; it has evolved. What once required an image now unfolds as vibration. The divine is no longer personified but diffused, circulating through colour, texture, and atmosphere. Blue dominates, but it is not singular. It deepens into indigo, fractures with rusted orange, glows with quiet gold. It carries both immersion and combustion.

There is a compelling tension in these works: density and lightness coexist. Feathers drift across turbulent grounds. Gold fissures cut through planetary masses. Mist veils intricate structures beneath. The compositions feel simultaneously microcosmic and macrocosmic; as if we are witnessing the inside of a cell and the birth of a universe in the same breath.

‘Athaha’ proposes infinity not as escape, but as interior expansion. These paintings ask the viewer to recalibrate scale, to consider that vastness may reside within the smallest pulse of awareness. In an era of distraction and speed, this work insists on sustained looking. It resists narration and instead offers immersion.

Infinity here is not decorative mysticism. It is a disciplined exploration of energy, stillness, and threshold. Stand before these works long enough, and the boundary between outer cosmos and inner landscape begins to thin.

This show was inaugurated on 3rd March 2026 by Honourable Guests Shri Rajendra Patil (President -The Bombay Art Society, Founder – India Art Festival), Prof. Dr. Ganesh Tartare(Sir, J.J. The opening evening brought together artists, students, collectors, and art enthusiasts, creating an atmosphere of engagement and dialogue. Visitors moved through the gallery spaces encountering works that explore inner landscapes through distinct yet complementary visual languages. While Bharti Verma’s practice engages with the human form and emotional interiority, Ruchi Chadha’s works draw upon the symbolic resonance of the lotus, reflecting themes of resilience, emergence, and quiet transformation.

Together, the exhibition creates a contemplative space where figuration and symbolism intersect, encouraging viewers to pause and reflect on the layers that lie beneath the visible surface of experience.
