Yellow Canvas – Children’s Art Exhibition 2024

A non commercial group art exhibition showcasing the works of about 100 school children from preschool to 12^th standard have been displayed at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery, Bajaj Bhavan, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400 021 from 12^th to 14^th April, 2024 between 11 am to 7 pm. This is the 4^th edition of group art exhibitions coordinated by Mr. Sohan Kumar Choudhary who is himself an artist having passed B.F.A. from Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai. This exhibition is the first of its kind to be held in Mumbai with a participation of about 100 students from Mumbai and other States of India, Singapore, USA, Israel, Germany, Netherland, U.K., U.A.E., Myanmar, Belgium, Hong Kong. Students are exhibiting artworks made in different mediums as in Acrylic, Charcoal, Pen & Ink, Mixed Media, Oil pastel, soft pastel & watercolour etc has been showcased in the exhibition and there will be free entry for this Art exhibition.

Many celebrities were present in this award ceremony organized by Dr. Krishna Chouhan, among whom the names of musician Dilip Sen, singer Deepa Narayan Jha (wife of Udit Narayan), BN Tiwari, former ACP Sanjay Patil, Bharti Chhabria and actor Ramesh Goyal and Keval Kumar from Media are notable.

इस गाने की शूटिंग अंडमान निकोबार में हुई है। अजय सोनी ने कहा कि हम वहां एक गीत ऎक्ट्रेस खुशबू के साथ शूट करने गए थे लेकिन दो गाने शूट किए। खुशबू काम के प्रति बड़ी ईमानदार हैं। एक शॉट में पेड़ों को क्रॉस करते हुए खुशबू को भाग कर आना था लेकिन वह गिर गई, चोट लग गई, उसके बावजूद उन्होंने अपनी शूटिंग जारी रखी। यह गीत हमने दो दिनों में शूट किया है। पहले हम इसे मालदीप में शूट करने चाह रहे थे लेकिन डायरेक्टर ने हमें अंडमान निकोबार की लोकेशन के बारे में बताया और हम तुरंत तैयार हो गए।

अभिनेत्री खुशबू वैद्या ने कहा कि यह ड्रीमी गाना है और हर एज ग्रुप के लोगों के लिए है। इस गाने पर काफी समय से हम सब वर्क कर रहे थे। डायरेक्टर की स्टोरी बोर्ड देखकर मैं खुश हुई। अंडमान निकोबार की लोकेशन बहुत ही अद्भुत है। इस सॉन्ग शूट को लेकर मुझे चेन्नई एयरपोर्ट पर पूरी रात गुजारनी पड़ी थी। जबकि सायन कूलेस्ट और फ्लेक्सिबल डायरेक्टर हैं, कलाकारों को फ्रीडम भी देते हैं। यह गीत दरअसल टीम वर्क का नतीजा है।

Renowned choreographer Sandip Soparrkar stole the limelight at the recent showcase of maverick designer Asif Shaikh’s new “Banarsi collection” in Ahemdabad. The event, held at the esteemed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Memorial, celebrated the rich tradition of Indian weaving and craftsmanship.

Soparrkar graced the stage along with Her Royal Highness Queen of Vadodara Radhikaraje Geakwad walked adorned in a saree ingeniously draped as a dhoti, a masterpiece that took artisans nearly four months to meticulously craft. A recent survey found that the majority of writers are dissatisfied with the recognition they receive for their contributions. This discontent further extends to their representation in marketing and promotional initiatives, with dissatisfaction rates ranging from 65% to 80% across various types of promotional activities.

The SWA Awards are thus a way of celebrating the unsung heroes behind the scenes and honouring the exceptional craftsmanship of screenwriters. As the only awards show that proudly proclaims, ‘Only for Writers, By the Writers‘, this annual event aims to place the real architects of imagination at the forefront of recognition and appreciation.

In its 5th year, the SWA will span over 20 categories, recognizing everything from Web Adaptations to Television and Feature Films, highlighting the diversity and depth of storytelling in Indian cinema. DIVINE ENDEAVOURS

Recent work of a contemporary artist, Jitendra R.Divte in Acrylic colours on canvas has been displayed in a solo art show in Jehangir Art Gallery, M.G. Road, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai 400 001 from 19^th to 25^th February, 2024 between 11 am to 7 pm. It will be open for free public viewing there during the gallery timings and showcase his artistic perceptions about the various temples, religious shrines, vivid places of worship, the buildings of historical and social heritage and relevance etc. in his style via apt colour combinations to suit their thematic relevance in different perspectives of visual fine arts.

This show was inaugurated on 19th February 2024 by Honorable Guests – Anil Naik Eminent artist, Saikat Bakshi Author, Sanara Roy Miss India World 2022 Supermodel Actress.

Jitendra R. Divte had his art education in fine arts at L.S. Raheja School of Arts, Mumbai, where he stood 7^th in order of merit in Maharashtra in 1998. Then he displayed his work on various themes in Army & Navy Building, Kala Ghoda Association, Mumbai, show in 2005 followed by solo art show at Sahil Art Gallery, Mumbai in 2008. He also participated in some group art exhibitions at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai, Army & Navy Building, Kala Ghoda Association, Mumbai Art Show, Hirji Jehangir Art Gallery, Bombay Art Society Annual Art Show, Vismay Metro Art Gallery, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore etc. He also participated in some International Water Colours art exhibitions in Bangladesh and Russia. He was awarded for his work in water colours in 2017 by IWS INDIA, in 2018 by IWS Bangladesh and in 2021 by IWS Russia. His work was appreciated by the art fraternity in these shows and he received good public response for these presentations.

The present series in Acrylic Colours on canvas throws light on his artistic impressions and aesthetic perceptions about various historical buildings, their architectural details & the culture & heritage associated with them at various places. He has focussed on presenting the various relevant details at these places in his expressive style using apt colour combinations and their harmony.  He has also highlighted the relevance and sanctity of various temples, religious shrines and places of worship, the heritage and cultural traditions there and their significant peculiarities. He has made artistic use of morning light, afternoon light, evening light alongwith shades, shadows, reflections and illumination effects at the desired locations in the work. He has made use of warm and cool colours and achieved their balance for aesthetic and artistic decoration of his work in the relevant perspectives. He has also used various geometrical forms and achieved their rhythmic unison in the work at the strategic arenas in order to get the desired visual perspectives in his work. India, 9^th February: Sagar Pictures Entertainment, rooted in the storytelling legacy of Ramanand Sagar, in association with the Manav Ekta Mission, proudly presented the Mumbai premiere of the award-winning documentary ‘Walking With M’ at the Royal Opera House in Mumbai.

The documentary, 7 years in the making, made with over 1800 hours of archival footage, is a cinematic marvel directed by the visionary Akash Sagar Chopra. The 1hr 37min feature, unveiled the monumental journey of Padmabhushan Awardee and Best-Selling Author Sri M, as he embarked on an epic 7,500-kilometer odyssey across India, traversing 11 states from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.

Amidst the cacophony of a divided world, the central plot of ‘Walking With’ is based on one of India’s ancient ideologies scripted in the Rig Veda – ‘Sang Gachattavam’ which translates to, may we walk together – that gave rise to The Walk of Hope 2015-2016, now hailed as the longest peace march in the history of India. Led by of Sri M, Mumtaz Ali (recipient of the Padmabhushan award in 2020) an Indian spiritual author, educationist, and an advocate for peace, The Walk of Hope or the Asha Yatra marks an arduous journey of 80 travelers who tried to bridge the chasms of discord across India, with the singular aim of bringing the diversity of India together.

At the premiere, Sri M expressed, “We may have differences which cannot be overcome, yet at our core, we’re all human beings and thus one. This timeless wisdom, deeply rooted in our ancient Indian culture, was the message we aimed to share during the ‘Walk of Hope’ padyatra. The Walk of Hope captivated the hearts of millions in India and abroad who joined the movement over a period of 16 transformative months in the year 2015-16. The yatra was greeted warmly by state chief ministers and the Honorable Prime Minister, who acknowledged and lauded the efforts of Sri M to explore the spirit of India.

“Covering over 7,500km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, we traversed through diverse villages, towns and cities where we learnt a lot. More than what we could share, we ourselves discovered the true essence of Bharat— which we realised is truly united at its heart.” He further added.

‘Walking With M’ has garnered international acclaim, with a successful run across 8 European countries, screening at a diverse “community film festival” circuit to reach as many communities as possible. Tamil Nadu: February 8, 2024 – On the occasion of Road Safety Week, Swiggy, India’s leading on-demand convenience platform has collaborated with the Greater Chennai City Traffic Police to organize a comprehensive road safety and traffic awareness program for its delivery partners in the city. The program, initiated on February 5th, aims to run over a span of three days, covering key locations such as Anna Nagar and Adyar in Chennai.

The program commenced with a safety rally by Swiggy’s delivery partners at Anna Nagar yesterday, witnessing an impressive turnout of over 100 participants. This was followed by informative traffic awareness sessions led by Traffic Inspector Mr. Shakthivel. The inaugural session was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic, and Mr. Sundar Raj, Assistant Commissioner of Police. Today, another session has been lined up at Anna Nagar.

Following this, the program will extend its reach to delivery partners in Adyar next week before encompassing significant zones across Coimbatore.

The “Road Safety and Traffic Awareness Programme” underscores Swiggy’s commitment to promoting responsible driving practices among its delivery fleet. Participants will receive training on crucial aspects such as traffic rules, helmet usage, case studies, consequences of reckless driving, and parking etiquette. Swiggy has been conducting annual road safety training for its delivery partners in the city since 2018.
