The film has been officially announced by Madhya Pradesh–based actor, producer, and director SK. Tiwari, who will also be seen portraying the role of Azad himself. While the name “Chandrashekhar Azad” is etched in history, very few people are aware that his real name was Chandrashekhar Sitaram Tiwari, son of Sitaram Tiwari. He adopted the name “Azad” after being arrested by the British at the young age of 15, boldly declaring his name as Azad, his father as Swatantrata, and his residence as jail.
Chandrashekhar Azad was not merely a revolutionary; he was an immortal symbol of courage, sacrifice, and defiance against colonial oppression. Over the decades, Hindi cinema has produced several notable films featuring Chandrashekhar Azad, including Shaheed (1965), 23 March 1931: Martyr (2002), The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002), Shaheed-e-Azam (2002), and Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad (2020). While these films primarily focused on the revolutionary movement and the martyrdom of Bhagat Singh and his comrades, Tiwari Sarkar takes a different route—delving into Azad’s origins, ideology, and the identity he left behind to become a symbol of freedom.
- Tiwari, who hails from Satna, Madhya Pradesh, is no stranger to struggle and perseverance. The son of Shri Brijlal Tiwari, a respected Vedacharya and farmer, SK. Tiwari’s journey in the entertainment industry has been shaped by determination and hard work. Over the years, he has carved a distinct space for himself in Bollywood as an actor, producer, and director.
His first music video, “Adhura Tere Bin,” brought him widespread recognition and marked the beginning of his successful career in the music and film industry. Recently, his album “Na Poochunga Koi Bhi Sawaal,” released under TPS Music, received an encouraging response from audiences. The song, sung and composed by Piyush Shukla, featured SK. Tiwari alongside Chandni Gupta, and their on-screen pairing was widely appreciated.
In Tiwari Sarkar, SK. Tiwari takes on the challenging responsibility of portraying Chandrashekhar Azad—a role that demands not just performance but deep emotional understanding and respect for history.
