~Top 10 organised burger chains grow from 1,481 outlets in 2023 to 2,018 in 2026, reflecting a 10.9% CAGR~

India’s organised burger Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) segment is entering its next phase of expansion, with leading brands increasingly moving beyond established metropolitan markets and deepening their presence across Tier II and Tier III India, according to QSR Watch – Edition II, the latest report released by Kennis Ventures Private Limited.

The report, which tracks the physical retail footprint of India’s top 10 organised burger chains, finds that their combined store network has increased from 1,481 outlets in 2023 to 2,018 outlets as of March 2026, representing a 10.9% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the period. According to industry estimates referenced in the study, India’s QSR industry is valued at approximately USD 30 billion in 2026, with the organised burger segment estimated at over USD 5 billion, reflecting a category that is growing both in scale and competitive intensity.

Of the top 10 chains covered in the study, McDonald’s and Burger King are the only two global brands and together account for 1,246 outlets, or 61.7% of the total footprint. McDonald’s remains the largest burger chain in India by outlet count, with 676 stores across 136 cities, while Burger King has the widest geographic presence, with 570 stores across 159 cities. At the same time, home-grown players are building meaningful scale, with the eight Indian-founded brands collectively operating 772 outlets, representing 38.3% of the top 10 network. Jumboking ranks third nationally with 172 outlets, followed by Burger Singh with 161, Biggies Burger with 113 and The Burger Company with 100 outlets.

Commenting on the findings, Saurabh Agarwal, Managing Director, Kennis Ventures Private Limited, said, “India’s burger QSR market is moving from being predominantly a metro-led category to becoming a much more geographically distributed consumer opportunity. While global players continue to command significant scale, the emergence of multiple Indian brands with meaningful regional and national footprints points to a deeper evolution of the category. The next phase of growth is likely to be shaped as much by expansion into underserved cities as by competition within established urban markets.”

The geographical spread of the category also points to a broader shift in growth momentum. North India remains the largest market with 837 stores, followed by West India with 624, South India with 438 and East India with 119. However, newer growth markets are expanding faster: between 2023 and 2026, South India grew 80.2% from 243 to 438 stores, while East India more than doubled from 59 to 119 stores, albeit from a smaller base. North and West India also continued to expand, growing 48.4% and 39.6%, respectively. Despite its rapid growth, East India remains the least penetrated region, highlighting significant headroom for further expansion.

A similar trend is visible across major cities. Delhi NCR remains the country’s largest urban hub with 364 stores, followed by Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) with 288, Bengaluru with 181, Pune with 100 and Hyderabad with 74. While Delhi NCR and MMR retain the largest store bases, Bengaluru and Pune are growing significantly faster, recording 53.4% and 56.3% growth respectively since 2023, while Hyderabad expanded by 32.1%.

Tier II and Tier III India Emerge as the Next Growth Frontier

Beyond the major metros, the report highlights an increasing push by organised burger chains into smaller and previously underserved markets. Burger King has expanded into cities such as Itanagar, Dimapur and Shillong, Burger Singh has established a presence in Ayodhya and Jhansi, while The Burger Company has penetrated markets such as Azamgarh, Hathras, Mau and Banda.

This widening geographic footprint signals a structural shift in the category as organised burger consumption becomes increasingly distributed beyond India’s traditional QSR hubs.

“The expansion story is no longer simply about adding more stores in Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru. Increasingly, the opportunity lies in identifying cities where rising purchasing power, younger consumer demographics and greater acceptance of organised QSR formats can support the next generation of outlets. For brands as well as investors, understanding these emerging geographic clusters will therefore become increasingly important,” added Agarwal.

दीपक सारस्वत के कॉर्पोरेट फ्रॉड से जुड़े सवाल पर दीपक कुमार ने दावा किया कि करीब 59 फीसदी भारतीय कंपनियां किसी न किसी रूप में कॉर्पोरेट फ्रॉड का सामना कर चुकी हैं। उन्होंने ग्रेटर नोएडा के एक मामले का जिक्र करते हुए बताया कि करीब 15 हजार रुपये मासिक वेतन पाने वाले एक कर्मचारी ने कथित तौर पर डेढ़ साल में कंपनी से करीब 60 लाख रुपये का गबन कर लिया था। उनके मुताबिक ऐसे मामलों में वित्तीय लेनदेन, दस्तावेजों और डिजिटल रिकॉर्ड की जांच महत्वपूर्ण होती है।

पॉडकास्ट में दीपक कुमार ने एक अन्य मामले का उल्लेख करते हुए दावा किया कि उनकी टीम ने दिल्ली के एक रियल एस्टेट डेवलपर की बहन को करीब 35 घंटे में ट्रेस कर लिया था। उन्होंने बताया कि जांच में सार्वजनिक रूप से उपलब्ध जानकारी, डिजिटल फुटप्रिंट और अन्य वैध जांच तकनीकों से मिले सुरागों का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।

दीपक सारस्वत ने तलाक और वैवाहिक विवादों में प्राइवेट इन्वेस्टिगेशन की भूमिका पर भी सवाल किए। दीपक कुमार के मुताबिक ऐसे मामलों में एसेट ट्रेसिंग के जरिए उपलब्ध कानूनी और सार्वजनिक रिकॉर्ड के आधार पर संपत्ति एवं वित्तीय स्थिति से संबंधित जानकारी जुटाई जा सकती है। उन्होंने बताया कि उनकी कंपनी में कुछ जांच सेवाओं की शुरुआती फीस करीब 25 हजार रुपये है, जबकि जटिल मामलों में खर्च लाखों रुपये तक पहुंच सकता है।

साइबर अपराध और यूपीआई फ्रॉड पर चर्चा करते हुए दीपक कुमार ने कहा कि डिजिटल धोखाधड़ी होने के बाद जितनी जल्दी शिकायत की जाए, उतना बेहतर है। उन्होंने लोगों को संदिग्ध ऐप डाउनलोड करने से बचने, निजी डेटा साझा करते समय सावधानी रखने और अपने डिवाइस की सुरक्षा अपडेट रखने की सलाह दी। साइबर फ्रॉड होने पर पीड़ित को तुरंत बैंक और आधिकारिक साइबर अपराध शिकायत व्यवस्था से संपर्क करना चाहिए।

अघोरी गोपाल ने भारत पॉडकास्ट पर खोले तंत्र साधना और वशीकरण के रहस्य

मथुरा। आयुर्वेद में कई गंभीर और लंबे समय से चली आ रही बीमारियों के उपचार की संभावनाएं मौजूद हैं। यह दावा आयुर्वेद चिकित्सक डॉ. शेख ने भारत पॉडकास्ट में बातचीत के दौरान किया। उन्होंने कैंसर, डायबिटीज, थायराइड, टीबी, अस्थमा सहित महिला एवं पुरुषों की यौन स्वास्थ्य समस्याओं में आयुर्वेदिक उपचार के उपयोग पर अपनी बात रखी।

डॉ. शेख ने बताया कि उनका परिवार करीब 120 से 130 वर्षों से आयुर्वेद के क्षेत्र से जुड़ा है। उनके मुताबिक उनकी सहारा फार्मेसी जीएमपी और आईएसओ प्रमाणित है तथा देश-विदेश में करीब 40 क्लीनिक संचालित किए जा रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि आयुर्वेद जैसी पारंपरिक चिकित्सा पद्धतियों को और अधिक महत्व दिए जाने की जरूरत है।

डायबिटीज पर चर्चा करते हुए उन्होंने खान-पान और जीवनशैली में सुधार पर जोर दिया तथा मेथी, करेला और विजयसार जैसे पारंपरिक उपायों का उल्लेख किया। उनका कहना है कि नियमित दिनचर्या और सही खान-पान कई जीवनशैली संबंधी समस्याओं के प्रबंधन में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा सकते हैं।

पॉडकास्ट में टीबी और अस्थमा पर भी चर्चा हुई। डॉ. शेख ने इन बीमारियों के लिए आयुर्वेद में उपलब्ध पारंपरिक उपचारों और अपने अनुभवों का जिक्र किया। हालांकि टीबी जैसी गंभीर संक्रामक बीमारी में प्रमाणित चिकित्सा और डॉक्टर की निगरानी बेहद जरूरी है तथा निर्धारित दवाएं स्वयं बंद नहीं करनी चाहिए।

महिला एवं पुरुषों की यौन स्वास्थ्य समस्याओं पर भी डॉ. शेख ने खुलकर अपनी बात रखी। उन्होंने लिकोरिया, अनियमित मासिक धर्म, स्वप्नदोष, स्तंभन दोष और शीघ्रपतन जैसी समस्याओं में सही चिकित्सकीय सलाह लेने पर जोर दिया। साथ ही बिना डॉक्टर की सलाह के यौन क्षमता बढ़ाने वाली दवाओं के इस्तेमाल से बचने की बात कही।

डॉ. शेख ने चिकित्सा क्षेत्र में बढ़ते व्यावसायीकरण और अनावश्यक जांचों को लेकर भी चिंता जताई। उनका कहना था कि चिकित्सा का पहला उद्देश्य मरीज को उचित और आवश्यक उपचार उपलब्ध कराना होना चाहिए। उन्होंने बच्चों की ऑनलाइन गतिविधियों पर भी अभिभावकों को ध्यान देने और उनसे खुलकर संवाद करने की सलाह दी।

Bengaluru: His Eminence Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan, eminent scientist, global humanitarian and Chairman & Chief Chancellor of the United Nations University for Global Peace, USA, graced the 80th Independence Day celebration at Manipal Hospital as the Chief Guest, adding international significance to the prestigious occasion.

Prof. Dr. Krishan hoisted the Indian National Flag along with Dr. H. Sudarshan Ballal, Chairman of Manipal Hospitals, in the presence of Guests of Honour Dr. Sunil G. Kini, Dr. Manish Rai, Dr. Anand R. Shenoy and Dr. Pankaj Singhai, along with senior doctors, healthcare professionals and members of the hospital management.

A Personal Journey of Gratitude

For Prof. Dr. Krishan, the occasion held a deeply personal significance. In October 2015, he underwent a full liver transplant at Manipal Hospital and credits the hospital’s transplant team with giving him what he describes as a “second life.”

He expressed special gratitude to Dr. Olith Selvan, Dr. Ravi Sidhachary and their entire liver transplant team, recalling the dedication and expertise that helped him overcome a critical phase of his life. He also recalled that he had earlier honoured Dr. Ravi Sidhachary at an international programme in recognition of his contribution.

Dr. Krishan also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the wider Manipal Hospital team whose efforts contributed to his care and recovery. He acknowledged Mr. Debojit Suklabaidya, Mr. Aditya, the Nursing Team led by Mrs. D. L. Vidhy, the team of Mrs. Reshma Shetty, Ms. Jisna Emmanuel, Mrs. Usha Samuel, Sister Subhalakshmi, and the Food and Nutrition Department headed by R. D. Rajashekhar, along with the entire team of Manipal Hospital.

“Freedom with Responsibility”

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Krishan spoke passionately about the importance of “Freedom with Responsibility”, urging India’s youth to take an active leadership role in building a peaceful, progressive, sustainable and strong nation.

Speaking from his own family history, he recalled that his grandfather was a freedom fighter who was arrested by the British and imprisoned in the Cellular Jail in the Andaman Islands.

Prof. Dr. Krishan emphasised that freedom brings with it a responsibility towards peace, love, harmony and humanity. He called upon the younger generation to contribute towards making India a Vishwa Guru and a stronger force in the global community.

He paid tribute to the countless unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle and acknowledged India’s leadership journey from the time of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, to the present government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu.

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan honoured the Manipal Hospital management with the Best Nation Builder Leader Award 2026 – Health Sector of Holistic Wellness. The award was received by Dr. H. Sudarshan Ballal.

Dr. Anand R. Shenoy, Senior Cardiologist, was honoured with the prestigious Human Excellence Golden Award 2026 from the United Nations University for Global Peace, USA.

Prof. Dr. Krishan said that his visit from the United States to India to honour Manipal Hospital and Dr. Anand R. Shenoy on the occasion of Independence Day was particularly meaningful to him. He described the hospital and its medical professionals as role models whose contribution to healthcare and humanity strengthens the nation.

Honouring the Legacy of Manipal

Prof. Dr. Krishan paid tribute to the vision of Dr. T. M. A. Pai, founder of the Manipal Group, whose pioneering work in medical education and healthcare laid the foundation for an institution that has grown into a globally recognised healthcare network.

Manipal’s medical legacy began with the establishment of Kasturba Medical College in 1953, while the flagship Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru was launched on Old Airport Road in 1991. The healthcare group has continued to expand under succeeding generations of the Pai family, with Dr. Ranjan Pai playing a prominent role in its growth.

A Scientist and Humanitarian with Global Recognition

Prof. Dr. Krishan also spoke about his recent participation in programmes marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence, including events connected with the United Nations and the New York State Assembly in Albany, as well as programmes in other parts of New York.

He recalled honouring several American public representatives and civic leaders during these events and receiving citations and recognition for his humanitarian and peace initiatives.

He also recalled being honoured with the U.S. President’s Lifetime Achievement Award during the period surrounding his treatment at Manipal, in recognition of his humanitarian work, peace education initiatives and efforts towards building what he describes as a “Peace Loving – Peace Living – Peace Practicing” civilisation.

A Guard of Honour and Cultural Tribute

Prof. Dr. Krishan was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour by the male and female security personnel of Manipal Hospital.

The nursing team presented a beautiful Indian classical dance followed by a one-act play conveying the message of Freedom with Responsibility.

The programme also featured the release of several high-tech ambulances, which were flagged off by Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan and Dr. H. Sudarshan Ballal.

The Manipal Hospital management also honoured several of its employees with Surveer Awards in recognition of their dedication and service.

Prof. Dr. Krishan’s wife, Mrs. P. M. Krishan, and daughter, Ms. Angel Payal Krishan, also graced the occasion.

The celebration brought together patriotism, healthcare excellence and humanitarian values, but for Prof. Dr. Madhu Krishan, the event carried an especially profound meaning: he returned to the hospital that had once given him a second life, this time as its Chief Guest, to celebrate India’s freedom and honour those who dedicate their lives to serving humanity.

Veteran actress Seema Pahwa is set to make her vertical-format debut with the upcoming female-led crime thriller ‘Lady Bond007’, directed by Sajan Agarwal. The series will premiere on Rocket Reels OTT, headed by Kranti Shanbhag, and features Pahwa in a never-seen-before detective avatar as Meenakshi Batra.

The story follows Meenakshi, a brilliant detective who goes undercover as a housekeeper at MIC Pharma while investigating a mysterious case involving Sandeep Gupta and his supposedly deceased daughter, Annu. What begins as a search for justice soon turns into a dangerous conspiracy involving greed, property, murder and revenge.

As Meenakshi digs deeper into the lives of Anjali and Hardik, she uncovers a trail of secrets and eventually arrives at the biggest revelation — Anjali is actually Annu, the daughter Sandeep had claimed was dead.

At the centre of the mystery is a red laptop, a hidden identity and Sandeep’s desperate attempt to regain control over his daughter and her property. The investigation takes a deadly turn when his carefully constructed conspiracy begins to unravel.

In the climactic confrontation, Sandeep confesses to Shiva’s murder before shooting Meenakshi. Just when everyone believes the detective is dead, she gets back on her feet, revealing that she was protected by a bulletproof jacket and had secretly recorded Sandeep’s confession.

Speaking about stepping into the vertical format and playing a detective for the first time, Seema Pahwa said, “I have always enjoyed exploring characters that allow me to do something different as an actor. Meenakshi is sharp, intelligent and fearless, and playing her has been a completely new experience for me.
