The Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) is one of the leading and most recognized associations for the performers community in India and an affiliate of the International Federation of Actors (FIA). The members present on the dais were Darshan Jariwala (Vice President), Amit Behl (Hon General Secretary), Rajeshwari Sachdev (Sr. Joint Secretary), Abhay Bhargava (Treasurer) Sanjay Bhatia (Joint Secretary) along with other EC members Tina Ghai, Jaya Bhattacharya, Hetal Parmar, Ravi Jhankal, Deepak Qazir, Rashid Mehta, Ghanshyam Srivastav and Vikas Verma.
A tribute was given to deceased CINTAA members Siddharth Shukla, Ghanshyam Nayak, Arvind Trivedi, Nitin Malhotra, Baldev Trehan, Madhavi Gogate-Barve, Mushtaq Merchant, Arun Verma, Ramesh Deo, Sanjay Kumar, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Akash Nath, Shiv Subramaniam, Manju Singh, Arun Khanna and Salim Ghouse.
Pankaj Dheer, Chairman of Cine Artists Welfare Trust shared the good news of the receipt of the final occupancy certificate of the CINTAA Tower building. He also added that work was on to create a state-of-the-art Auditorium and a cafeteria besides other amenities. The bid was to generate maximum revenue from the building and lease, and the rentals would be for the welfare and well-being of CINTAA members, he divulged.
During the course of the meeting, nearly an hour was spent answering a volley of questions raised by CINTAA members. From casting issues, to non-timely payments to actors, from health and safety to hygiene protocols, substandard food served on the sets to lack of transport facilities, each grievance was taken up by the Hon Gen Secretary Amit Behl in the most honest and healthy manner, ensuring that the executive committee’s recognition of the multiple challenges endured by actors was felt by the members and that they shall spare no effort to iron out the glitches. He also categorically stated that unity is strength and that the association must put up a collective fight.
While CINTAA have always approached the Channels, Producers’ Association and producers to find ways to mitigate the troubles of their members, there have not been too many encouraging responses. The association stays committed to fight every issue. OTT is a growing platform for actors to get work and though CINTAA under its governing laws cannot function as a casting agent, they will certainly explore options as a facilitator. They also mentioned that CINTAA is ready to fight for residuals and royalties for their members.
Reaching out to the Government be it I & B, Labour, Cultural or even Finance would be an ongoing process, soliciting support and assistance from FIA would be an added effort. Since CINTAA has an MOU with FWICE they will also take FWICE’s support on joint and common issues.
The Annual General Meeting approved all of the resolutions on the agenda.

An experience that I am sure none of the lucky spectators are going to forget in a long time. Basking in the glory of all her hard work over the past two years, was the creator, composer and performer of the musical, Jhansi. Firstly, to even have our own young people creating such distinct and stylised work in Kolkata, writing, composing and performing in the style of Western Musical Theatre (Broadway), was incredibly exciting. However, what we were not ready for, when we went in, was exactly how much our own personal life would be reflected as she performed. From our deepest shames and insecurities, to our very real fears of losing loved ones, to how utterly ridiculous the wedding industry is, she covered all the topics that plague us, all of us.
The show might be called Terrified of Twenty-Five, but it made everyone, old and young, laugh till their belly ached, and secretly cry into their handkerchiefs.
Honestly, it felt like a mirror in our faces, forcing us to confront our truths, while we felt safe in the warm embrace of the darkness and Jhansi’s brilliant words and music.
Strangers in tears hugging her after the end of each show, people messaging her days later, to speak of revelations that they applied in their lives, to guests in shock “How did you know my story. This is MY story”, we saw it all.
I guess… it is OUR story. We humans, who like to think of ourselves as alone in our suffering, our anxieties and our hopes. This musical proved this for sure. We are not alone, and we are SEEN.
Jhansi saw us. And she created this incredible rollercoaster of a musical. If the purpose of art is to heal, well, this show completed its purpose and some more.

After the premier of Terrified of Twenty-Five, Jhansi is off to New York City to audition for the second round of the merit based, prestigious BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, where she has been asked to come audition as a lyricist finalist.

Recent work of a well known artist from Karnataka, Dr. M.G. Makandar in water colours will be displayed in a solo art exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery, M.G. Road, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai 400001 from 10th to 16th May, 2022 between 11 am to 7 pm. It will present landscapes and other works related to beauty of nature in different forms in water colours in his unique technique and stylish visual expressions. Dr. M.G. Makandar hails from Belgaum, Karnataka. He had his art education upto Art Master followed by Master of fine arts in Karnataka. He was awarded doctorate in fine arts from a well known University in Karnataka. He achieved the Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy Award. Then he displayed his work in water colours in many solo and group art exhibitions at numerous places in leading art galleries at Dharwad, Hubbali, Bangalore, Mysore, BelgaviUdupi, Goa, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Pune and many more. He also participated in International art shows at Nepal, Bangkok, Kathamandu etc. He is a proud recipient of several awards from leading art promotional institutions of good reputation as a recognition and appreciation of his genuine talent and creativity. His works are in collection of many art collectors in India and abroad.
Deeply motivated by an intense urge from within to create artwork in water colours to reveal the beauty of nature in a realistic style, Dr. M.G. Makandar was very much obsessed by the hues of the simplicity of village life and its cultural vignettes in rural areas of our country. He was also overwhelmed by the omnipresent beauty of nature and its numerous hues and grandeur in various seasons in a year at different places and regions. His keen observations, command over the medium and techniques used and an eloquent visual language of expressions together resulted into the present series of artwork that is not only picturesque and expressive but also eloquent and visually pleasant. It depicts small mud huts and houses of farmers and other working class in rural environments that produce the landscapic visual effect. He has displayed simple village life and eternal beauty of nature at Hampi, Pattadakalla, Badami, Bijapur, Goa and many more places in his works. In addition, he has also highlighted the hills and snowclad mountains in Nepal and other spots. He also incorporated the eternal beauty and divine serenity of Mother Nature and their omnipresent grandeur in his works at strategic arenas so as to adorn them aesthetically with the desired visual effects and the expected tranquillity.

प्रतिभाशाली अभिनेत्री एवं मॉडल उर्वशी सिंह का मानना है कि सफलता एक दिन में नहीं मिलती लेकिन अगर हौसलें बुलंद हो तो एक दिन ज़रूर मिलती हैं !

*मुम्बई, 07 मई: हाल ही में मायानगरी मुंबई के एक स्टूडियो में म्यूज़िक लेबल H & K के तहत प्रवीण भारद्वाज द्वारा लिखे व कम्पोज किये गये और अमन त्रिखा द्वारा गाये गाने ‘बारिश का इंतज़ार’ की रिकॉर्डिंग की गई ।
संगीत के शोर में गुम दुनिया में मधुर और कर्णप्रिय संगीत को बढ़ावा देने के लिहाज़ से निर्माता हरीश शर्मा ने अब एक नई पहल कर दी है. हरीश शर्मा ने अपना नया म्यूज़िक लेबल ‘H & K म्यूज़िक’ को एक नये गाने की की रिकॉर्डिंग के साथ मुम्बई में लॉन्च किया.
मुम्बई में एक स्टूडियो में ‘H & K म्यूज़िक’ के लॉन्च के मौके पर निर्माता हरीश शर्मा, कविता शर्मा के अलावा जाने-माने गायक अमन त्रिखा और गीतकार व संगीतकार प्रवीण भारद्वाज भी मौजूद थे.
इस म्यूज़िक लेबल का पहला गाना होगा ‘बारिश का इंतज़ार’. इस गाने को लिखा है प्रवीण भारद्वाज ने जो अब तक 150 से भी ज़्यादा फ़िल्मों के लिए सैंकड़ों हिट गाने दे चुके हैं. गीतकार से संगीतकार बने प्रवीण भारद्वाज ने ही इस रोमांटिक गीत को कम्पोज़ भी किया है.
हमेशा से ही लीक से हटकर गाने लिखनेवाले और अलहदा किस्म का संगीत देनेवाले गीतकार और संगीतकार प्रवीण भारद्वाज ने
इस ख़ास मौके पर कहा, “H & K म्यूज़िक के बैनर तले हम अर्थपूर्ण और गुणवत्तापूर्ण गाने लोगों के सामने पेश करेंगे. इतना ही नहीं, हम अपने ही गानों को लेकर टॉप क्लास के वीडियो एलबम भी तैयार करेंगे. इंडस्ट्री में बाहर से आनेवाली नई प्रतिभाओं को यहां आकर काफ़ी संघर्ष करना पड़ता है. हम इस म्यूज़िक लेबल के तहत नई प्रतिभाओं को भी मौका देंगे और उनकी साझेदारी मे नई नई धुनें लोगों के सामने लाएंगे. वैसे निर्माता के तौर पर हमारी 2-3 फ़िल्मों की शूटिंग पहले से ही चल रही हैं और आगे हम वेब सीरीज़ बनाने के काम में भी संलग्न हैं.”
निर्माता हरीश शर्मा अपने म्यूज़िक लेबल के लॉन्च पर ख़ुशी जताते हुए कहा, “राजस्थानी लोक संगीत और लोक धुनें बेहद समृद्ध हैं. राजस्थानी धुनें और वहां का संगीत काफ़ी लोकप्रिय तो है मगर उसे जन-जन और दुनियाभर में पहुंचाने के लिए सब तक कोई माकूल मंच नहीं मिला है. H & K म्यूज़िक की कोशिश होगी कि अन्य तरह के गीत-संगीत को बढ़ावा देने के साथ साथ हम राजस्थानी संगीत और वहां की स्थानीय प्रतिभाओं को भी उभरने का पूरा मौका दिया जाए. हमें यकीन है कि हम इसमें ज़रूर कामयाब होंगे.”
H & K म्यूज़िज के पहले गीत ‘बारिश का इंतज़ार’ के गायक अमन त्रिखा ने नये म्यूज़िक लेबल के लॉन्च और इसके तहत पहले गाने की रिकॉर्डिंग को लेकर कहा, “मैंने H & K म्यूज़िक के तहत आज जो गाना गाया है वो बहुत ही सुरीला और रोमांटिक गाना है. प्रवीण भारद्वाज ने इस गाने के जो बोल लिखे हैं, वो बहुत ही अर्थपूर्ण हैं जो लोगों के दिलों को छू जाएंगे.”
सिंगर अमन त्रिखा ने इस ख़ास मौके पर ‘बारिश का इंतज़ार’ का एक मुखड़ा भी गाकर सुनाया. इस गाने के वीडियो में लीड एक्टर के तौर पर ‘बहू-बेगम’ और ‘घायल रिटर्न्स’ फ़ेम अभिनेत्री डायना ख़ान नज़र आएंगी.
उल्लेखनीय है कि ‘H & K म्यूज़िक’ के लेबल के तहत दूसरा गाना शाबाव साबरी द्वारा गाया जाएगा, जिसमें दुबई की जानी-मानी अभिनेत्री आएशा ख़ान मुख्य रूप से फ़ीचर होंगी ।

This year’s festival aims to bring together creative minds to offer insights on matters relevant to the literature and our cultural life as a nation. Announcing the festival Mr. Sumant Batra said, “We are extremely excited to host this year’s Kumaon Literary Fest and look forward to taking art and literature lovers on a creative journey. We have a very impressive line-up of speakers this year along with some interesting book launches and discussions. Each year, the festival, promotes art and world heritage with numerous innovative initiatives. This year, the festival will have eminent speakers like Amrit Gangar, film historian and writer, Anant Vijay, senior journalist and author, Rahul Rawail, film director and writer, Milee Ashwarya, publisher, Ebury Publishing and Vintage Publishing at Penguin Random House India, His Grace Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Senior Vice-President of ISKCON, Bangalore and Vice-Chairman of the Akshaya Patra Foundation among many others. मशहूर सिनेबस्टर मैगज़ीन ने मुम्बई के नोवोटल होटल में आयोजित एक भव्य कार्यक्रम में सिनेबस्टर सिने अवार्ड्स 2022″ फ़िल्म एंड टीवी अवार्ड्स शो का अनाउंसमेंट किया। इस ट्रॉफी की खास बात यह है कि विश्व सिनेमा के इतिहास में पहली बार किसी ट्रॉफी को सोने और हीरे से तैयार किया गया है जो विजेताओं को प्रस्तुत की जाएगी।
मनोरंजन इंडस्ट्री के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में उत्कृष्टता के लिए कलाकारों, संगीतकारों, गायकों, प्रोडक्शन हाउस को सम्मानित करने के लिए इस अवार्ड शो को आयोजित किया जा रहा है।

KASHISH SHARMA – The most beauteous charmento Artiste and Fashion Model from Delhi
~Collaborates with Saahas to support the Swaccha Udupi Mission~
Karnataka, April 28, 2022: HDB Financial Services (HDBFS) collaborated with Saahas to support the Swachh Udupi Mission; a holistic program initiated by the district administration to manage the city waste in a scientific and a sustained manner.
Under this project, residents and commercial establishments were trained on segregating waste at source. Nearly 155,000 individuals are sensitized through various awareness activities and over 34,000 households have been practicing source segregation daily.
HDBFS supports the training programs for ward-level frontline workers such as those who help with refuse collection, segregators employed at sorting units and the staff managing the landfills. In an attempt to reduce landfill waste, tools and technical know-how were provided to aid the process of converting waste into a resource. With collaborated efforts, nearly 11,000 metric tons of waste have been diverted from the landfills till date. Compost is made using the bio-degradable waste, whereas non-degradable waste, depending on its chemical composition, is sent for co-processing.
Commenting on the initiative Environmental Engineer with Udupi City Municipal Corporation Sneha Shankar said, “through the Solid Waste Management program as initiated by HDB in collaboration with Saahas, Udupi’s waste management scenario has completely changed over the course of three years. If it was not for the machineries & other support given through the project, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve so much within so less time. We sincerely thank HDBFS for their continuous support we got from them.”
Commenting on the initiative HDBFS Branch Manager in Udupi Dayananda Poojary said, “Rapid urbanization in the country has led to challenges in the disposal and effective treatment of waste. HDBFS, through its waste management initiatives, strives to sensitize and engage the communities on responsible waste management practices in order to reduce the irreversible adverse impact on the environment.”
Commenting on the initiative Saahas CEO Archana Tripathi said, “The Udupi project has been our first city level intervention for Solid Waste Management and with the support of Udupi CMC, we have showcased a model which can be replicated in other cities as well. We are grateful to HDB Financial Services for giving us the opportunity to work on Swaccha Udupi Mission and for the constant support that we have received from their CSR team.”
The waste management program has led to setting up pilot systems to prevent plastic waste from entering the ocean and providing technical inputs to the City Municipal Corporation for setting up advanced processing centres to segregate waste efficiently.

Recent creative and thematic work of a famous contemporary artist Bira Kishor Patra has been displayed in a solo art exhibition at Nehru Centre A.C. art gallery Dr. Annie Besant Road, Worli, Mumbai 400 018 from 26th April, to 2nd May, 2022 between 11 am to 7 pm.

Bira Kishor Patra hails from Orissa, He had his art education upto B.F.A. in Painting from Berhampur University, Orissa and then M.F.A. in Painting from Faculty of Visual Arts, B.H.U. Varansi, U.P. He was a proud recipient of several awards even during his student period and thereafter also from many prestigious art promotional institutions of national and international reputation. He actively participated in many solo and group art shows at numerous art galleries all over India and abroad and rendered his yeoman services for propagation of fine arts to masses through talks on radio/TV and other means for presentations/demonstrations etc. His works are in proud collection of many art collectors of good reputation in India and abroad. He has often received overwhelming public response and appreciations for his presentations.
The present series of artwork in acrylic colours on canvas illustrates subtle nuances of FASCINATING DEVOTION in his unique style of visual expressions. His unique expressive thematic endeavours reveal the conceptualization on divine path through music of spirituality and rhythm of music. It is most effectively revealed through his artistic exploration of the beauty and reality of Universal metaphor in human soul, mind and heart. These divine sentiments are depicted very artistically by Bir Kishor Patra via vivid interactive and expressive emotional experiences which have duly inspired him to vividly portray the spiritual Universe connected and closely related with Divine Music which, in turn, showers its eternal elixir and nectar on the entire mankind. The artistic expressions in various works symbolize the divine journey from outer world to inner subconscious mind which is based on spiritual experience of Divine Gurus, Saints etc. as has been derived from Universal truth of realisation of self.
